Get to Know Skin MPLS: Meet Amanda!

Amanda is an old soul with a love for 60’s music and 90’s fashion. We picked her brain to give you a little more background on this free loving, creativity-radiating Virgo that will be there to greet you with a smile – even if you can’t see it under her home-sewn bumblebee mask.

When you see Amanda in the studio, you might be most surprised that she used to be obsessed with designer clothing and “fitting in.” Because these days, you’ll find her in thrifted, perfectly-fitting vintage Levi’s and a homemade tie dye t-shirt. It was her love of designer clothes that originally sent her to the thrift store. But, the desire to look cool to others started to fade and her individualism really started to shine through after college. Her friends describe her as “a hipster before it was a thing.” 

Before coming to Skin MPLS, she put in several years in at her office job before deciding it was time to cash out her 401K and do what she loved. And as it turns out, she loves skincare. According to her tarot card reading, Amanda is a manifester. We believe it, because when she first walked in to Skin MPLS, she looked at Josie at the front desk and thought that would be a fun job. Don’t be surprised if Tom Petty and Bob Segar are playing when you walk through our doors now that Amanda has control of the music, those are just a couple of her favorite artists.

She’s been married just long enough to no longer be considered a “newlywed. Thankfully her husband is a Taurus, the perfect match to a Virgo – she points out. Also, during this shutdown, she became an adoptive dog mama to her new pup Rider. She’s the free spirit of her family – despite the fact that Virgos are known as worriers. She lives by the Tom Petty quote, “Most of the things I worry about don’t happen anyways.” Aren’t those words to live by right now?! 

With that mantra, we are grateful to Josie to pass the Studio Manager torch to Amanda. And we encourage you to introduce yourself (if you haven’t already met her at our front desk on Thursday nights) and call/email her anytime with your general Skin MPLS needs.
