Welcome to Med Spa @ Skin MPLS!
Skin MPLS has always been more clinical in its approach to treating skin, so we’re thrilled to have a medical spa as well!
We don’t always like how the medical spa industry does things, so we’re here to do them differently and fill gaps. We’ve always noticed that the industry can be intimidating for clients and have missed the boat on a few things.
Traditionally, med spas are known for high prices and impersonal treatments. Not here, we’re entering this space to create a hybrid approach to give your skin what it needs – we will continue to customize each session to you and work to make the pricing approachable and the information digestible. And just like Skin MPLS, we hate add-ons and up-charges too — so the price you see is the price you will pay. Everything you want is included — like treating your neck and chest, and we don’t even accept gratuities.
We’re so glad you’re here to continue your skin’s life journey with us. Here’s what else you need to know about Med Spa @ Skin MPLS.
Medical Director
Nurse Practitioner Becky Nosan is our medical director, and she’s also a provider. She has 24 years of experience providing healthcare services and putting patients first. You can learn more about her here.
Separate Medical Payment System
Our medical spa treatment payments must be separate from aesthetic and product purchase payments for compliance reasons.
Med spa treatment payments will be checked out through a separate medical payment processing system, and you will always need to bring a form of payment (cash or credit card) to your medical aesthetic appointments. Your card on file will be used solely for holding your appointment and product purchases.
Skin MPLS Gift Certificates cannot be used for Med Spa @ Skin MPLS treatments, and we do not offer gift card purchases for the med spa.
Cancellation Policy
Our system issues multiple appointment reminder texts and emails to help you avoid last-minute cancellations and no-shows. However, things don’t always go as planned, and last-minute cancellations and no-shows still happen.
Med Spa @ Skin MPLS has the same 24-hour cancellation policy as Skin MPLS, but the cancellation fee is a flat $150 for missed and late-canceled appointments. You are responsible for checking travel conditions on the day and planning for weather in advance.
Privacy Promise and HIPAA Notice
No one likes paperwork, but everyone likes knowing their medical office is following the health and safety laws! Med Spa @ Skin MPLS and Skin MPLS are both HIPAA compliant, and with that comes a new privacy practice and HIPAA consent form you'll need to complete for each treatment.
Please complete these before your appointment via the link in the automated confirmation emails you receive. Otherwise, the front desk team will have an iPad for you to fill out at the appointment, or you can use your mobile device — but you’ll need to arrive at least 10 minutes early.
Treatment Consent Forms
Speaking of paperwork, med spa treatment consent forms need to be reviewed and resubmitted for each treatment. This isn’t as daunting as it sounds because the form will be prepopulated with your previously submitted data, so you will just need to review it, make any necessary updates, and resubmit!
We know it’s a bit of a pain, but it is in your best interest to ensure we have your most up-to-date health information.
No Gratuity
Thank you for your generous Skin MPLS gratuities over the years. We didn't start off accepting gratuities, but you sweetly bullied us into it over the years — and we genuinely appreciated it. We are back to our original no-gratuity model, which started with the medspa. Please continue coming in, sending in your friends and family, and leaving us reviews. Your continued business, referrals, and reviews are "thanks" enough for us!
Gift Cards
We do not offer gift card purchases or payments for Med Spa @ Skin MPLS treatments. Skin MPLS gift cards are for in-studio product purchases and Skin MPLS non-med spa treatments only.
Treatment Offerings
Microneedling: Reverse65 is a 65-minute microneedling session using the SkinPen device to take your skin results even further. It's safe for all skin (except those with active skin cancer or other infections/wounds in the area, those with uncontrolled diabetes, or those who are pregnant or nursing). It is geared most specifically towards reversing acne scarring and signs of skin aging (such as wrinkles, thinning skin, and laxity), but it's also for those working to maintain the healthiest skin possible.
The treatment goes deep to rebuild collagen to get your skin where you want it. The bulk of the treatment will be microneedling your skin (learn about the differences between microneedling and microchanneling here!) to create controlled inflammation to trigger your skin's natural wound-healing functions. But, as in every treatment, we will start with a deep ultrasonic cleanse, perform any VERY light extractions necessary (note that this treatment is not suitable for those still treating active acne), numb your skin, complete the microneedling, and then work to begin to calm the inflammation with LED and/or oxygen therapy. You will leave quite pink, which should fade in approximately 24 hours, and you will not be able to wear any product (including SPF and makeup) or sweat for the first 24 hours – so plan your calendar accordingly.
BBL (BroadBand Light): We have the best laser light machine from the best laser company in the market — it's Sciton's BBL HERO machine! Book our correct60 or correct25 treatment to correct uneven pigment like sunspots, freckles, rosacea, visible capillaries, and post-inflammatory spots left behind from pimples in your skin. We'll use Sciton's FDA-approved Forever Young BBL (BroadBand Light) to target specific chromophores, specifically melanin (brown) and hemoglobin (red). The light energy delivered will destroy its targets and gently heat the skin's upper layers, stimulating your skin cells to regenerate and restore your skin (bonus!). You know us, we hate add-ons. We know you also want to treat your neck and chest, so we'll treat as much of those areas as time allows if you book the full 60-minute treatment.
Note that because this technology targets melanin in the skin, it is not indicated for more melanin-rich skin tones. It is also not indicated for those pregnant or with any active infections, any implanted medical devices, any uncontrolled chronic conditions, epilepsy, or a history of melanoma.
Pro-Peel: Vivant Skincare’s medium-depth four-part peel can help to clear acne, lessen acne scars, lift hyperpigmentation, and refine fine lines. Allow for 3-5 days of peeling downtime — and think “shedding your skin” versus the flaking you’re used to with other chemical peel treatments! The medspa60 treatment price comes with a post-peel home care system and requires proper skin conditioning prior to service — please contact us for details if you’re a new patient when booking medpeel60.
TCA CROSS: You know we love to hate acne and its effects, so now, with TCA CROSS (Chemical Reconstruction of Skin Scars) treatments, we can pinpoint-accurately target ice pick and boxcar acne scars! In our cross30 treatment, trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is applied just to the scars to encourage reconstruction and elevate the bottom of the scar’s depression. This treatment comes with minimal discomfort and downtime and can improve the scars by 10-30% each treatment, which should be spaced 6-8 weeks apart. We can also treat enlarged distended pores and facial piercing scars.
Book Med Spa @ Skin MPLS treatments online or in the Skin MPLS studio; we have a shared front desk and online scheduling system.
