Check Your Makeup Bag For These Highly Pore-Clogging Makeup Products!
These popular and well-rated makeup products may be great if not acne-prone. But if you are, they’re probably not for you.
Ingredients in cosmetics are one of the most common acne triggers but are also the simplest to fix. Scan this list, and discontinue usage ASAP if you are using one of these products and are currently breaking out! Not wearing foundation for a ‘more natural skin’ look is really trending, but that doesn’t mean you are saving yourself from pore cloggers.
Tinted Moisturizers:
Lighter is not always better! Tinted moisturizers can cause even more acne than foundations! Using one of these? Eek!
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector SPF 30 (Isostearic acid, glyceryl stearate se, acid, shea butter)
Fenty Beauty Hydra Vizor Huez SPF 30 Refillable Tinted Moisturizer
Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer (Coconut alkanes, agar, isostearic acid)
Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint (Ethylhexyl palmitate, avocado oil, soybean oil, vegetable oil)
Concealer:
When looking for more coverage, we’ll layer on more foundation before applying concealer any day. Concealer is almost always pore-clogging and also a cross-contamination risk. If you think you are better off skipping foundation and applying only concealer to “trouble” spots, think again. Especially if you are using one of these!
Blushes, Bronzers, and Highlighters:
Products in this category are such a fun impulse buy but can be a big acne culprit. The good news is that It’s easy to tell if they are breaking you out because you’ll see breakouts right where they’re applied!
Hoola Bronzer (Ethylhexyl palmitate)
Powders:
Compared to pressed powders, which are frequently an acne no-go, loose powders can often be a great acne-safe option. But don’t be tricked into overlooking them in your makeup bag, because here are four loose powders that all contain big pore-cloggers.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder (Magnesium myristate, ethylhexyl palmitate, zea mays, soybean oil)
One/Size by Patrick Star Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder (Magnesium myristate, ethylhexyl palmitate, zea mays)
Makeup by Mario SurrealSkin Talc-Free Soft Blur Setting Powder (Magnesium myristate)
