Get to know Kaila…
How do you connect with clients?
Getting to know what their life is like. I really enjoy having the opportunity to get to know all the personal details of my clients’ lives. I love knowing what their kids are up to, where they are traveling to, what their job is, tell me all the things.
It takes a lot of trust for clients with skin insecurities to open up; how do you help new clients feel comfortable?
Taking a no-judgment approach, I’m not here to critique or berate your current routine. I just want to know what your concerns are so we can make improvements to your routine and help you feel more confident and comfortable in you.
Describe your philosophy on helping clients create healthy skin.
I like meeting clients where they’re at. I want to know what is unattainable for their lifestyle. The only routine they will do is the one that feels attainable and not overwhelming for them.
As an acne expert, what is the most critical aspect of treating acne for you?
I view treating acne like putting a puzzle together. I need to know what your lifestyle is like, your diet, your laundry habits, etc. All the little things add up to the big things and result in us successfully treating your acne.
What makes treating acne difficult?
Acne can be really complex; you can do all the right things, and skin can still be skin. Sometimes, learning to manage it and keep it from getting worse is the approach we must take.
What’s the most common skin misstep you see clients make?
Taking advice from TikTok and Instagram. Everyone’s skin is so different, and following advice for the general public takes away from a skincare regimen that’s set up personally for you and what your skin needs.
Which skincare step are you most passionate about? (and why)
Serums. I think cleansers and moisturizers are extremely important, but serums are really something you cannot cheap out on. They’re what’s really going to go in deep and change your skin.
If you weren’t an aesthetician, what would you be doing?
A naturopathic doctor. I love learning about how the body works and taking a more holistic approach to overall health and wellness.
