Summer Skin Makeup Updates!
Makeup brands are constantly changing by adding new products, discontinuing other products, and updating formulas – and we try to keep up as best we can. We noticed a few changes to our trifecta of cult classic luxury makeup brands – NARS, Chanel, and Armani. So here is the skin(nie) on the changes, along with direct links to each of the brands’ updated makeup posts.
NARS has always been close to our hearts because their Sheer Glow Foundation is really the acne-safest foundation that we have found, and it works well for practically every skin type and tone. It’s exactly how it reads, sheer and glowing – but comes with buildable coverage. Unfortunately, as of recently, it’s only available online through their website – but we think it’s worth the order!
Our updated NARS list features some changes in their highlighter and blush categories, and they now also have a new multipurpose stick.
Luminous Silk Foundation has been a huge viral foundation for years, but recently generated some buzz for having a formula change. The brand says they reformulated to make more shades, add niacinamide and hyaluronic acid, plus tighten up some ingredients to comply with EU standards. The jury is still out about the change, but it’s worth noting we’ve always listed it as “Proceed With Caution!” because it contains Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate.
We saw that they have a new-to-us product called Skin Tint Longwear and Care, and we're happy to see that it’s acne-safe. If you decide to try it out, let us know about your experience! They’ve also changed and discontinued some foundations and blushes, so we’ve updated our list accordingly.
While Chanel has discontinued one of our favorites (RIP Vitalumiere Aqua foundation!), they now offer a CC cream that is somewhat acne-friendly, plus they still do have a few “OG” acne-safe foundations. Additionally, they’ve edited their blushes, bronzers, and highlighters – so we’ve edited our list as well!
