Lindsey Mixes Style and Skin

With timeless skin and style, we’re obsessed with getting this Gen Z-er’s take on all things hip. She stays humble, though. When we asked her how it felt to be the hippest aesthetician at Skin MPLS, she quickly replied, “Who me!?”

Yes, you! And while she may not fully know who Led Zepplin is, she can recommend the perfect foreign film (her favorite is "Women on The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown"). When asked if she could be famous, she responded, "Only for my craft, and I would hope not to be recognizable."  But anyone can spot that complexion of yours from a mile away, so good luck with that!

We are celebrating Lindsey's Skin MPLS work anniversary this month. So please read on to learn more about Lindsey. We rapidly fired 20 questions about skin and life. Perfectly fitting to her, she gave us short, sweet, and clever answers that not even the Skin(nie) could edit any better. So here they are! Our top 20 Lindseyisms.

Thank you, Lindsey, for always keeping it real and prioritizing the right answer for someone's skin. We're so happy you walked into our studio in your floor-length European wool coat more than four years ago.

Why skin?

I always liked caring for my skin when I was a kid, and the industry runs in my family. My mom is a cosmetologist.

Why SKIN MPLS?

Because you guys change skin.

How many steps should you have?

Oh jeez. Six to 7… Seven is the lucky number.

What’s the future of skincare?

Never-ending and ever-evolving.

Imagine creating your own skincare line…

It would be a suncare line – the most protective and most comfortable. The name would be “No Excuses SPF.”

What’s something challenging for you in this field?

I can’t always see everything my clients do. I would love to be a fly on the wall.

If you were a skincare product, which one would you be?

Sun Protection Ultra Repair SPF50 by Dr. Esthe.

Is there a skin condition that hits close to home for you?

Acne. My older brother had severe acne that led him to Accutane and I wish I knew what I know now back when he went through it.

I heard you know how to read Korean?

I learned it in high school. Anyone can do it; it’s not as hard as you think it is. It comes in handy at work reading Dr. Esthe labels.

What would you change about the industry?

The lack of education, there needs to be so much more education tied to everything.

Dogs or cats?

I love cats, and I want one really bad.

What were you like as a kid?

I loved to mind my own business and always stayed in my lane.

 What makes someone cool?

The not-so-obvious things. It’s the little details; it’s all in the details.

Family, fame, or fortune – what motivates you?

Family

Could you live at home forever?

I think I could. My parents are very generous and patient.

Have you got your parents on a skincare routine?

Yes, for my mom, but my dad is hard. My mom’s routine is cleanse, tone, retinol, moisture, and SPF, and I scold her if she doesn’t.

Are your friends quiet or loud?

They're quiet until we are together.

How wise are you on a scale from 1 to 10?

Six!

How mischievous are you on a scale from 1 to 10?

Seven or eight ;)

If you were stranded on a deserted island with one person, who would it be?

My mom
