Get To Know SKIN MPLS: Meet Lindsey!
Our schedules have been so booked for so long that we are ready to bring on more hands (quite literally) to treat your skin! You know we don’t make these decisions lightly, so after two years of experience as a client (while both using our products herself AND recommending them to others) and after several weeks of in-studio training we are excited to bring on Lindsey Marquez!
Lindsey graduated from The Aveda Institute in early 2019 and has that signature Aveda touch that’s sure to make your experience extra warm and fuzzy. Don’t let her quiet and kind demeanor fool you -- she is not shy to give you the right skincare advice and will offer an honest perspective on your needs.
She is proof even aestheticians can struggle with their skin, but she was not too proud to come in our doors for help in early 2020. She was a dream client and now is the dream co-worker to round out our passionate team. In her free time, she is a family-oriented person who goes to church weekly. She is an old soul with impeccable style, a humble spirit, and a beautiful smile. She is a sponge to all things skin. She has the wisdom of a tenured aesthetician with the energy and drive of a newcomer ready to prove herself!
We fully trust her with our skin and we think you should too! Here is a little more about Lindsey from Lindsey herself!
What made you want to become an Aesthetician?
I feel like I always had an interest in skin and skincare products and began to take care of my skin at an early age. When I realized it was something I could turn into a profession and really grow in, it felt like the natural step to take.
We know family is number one for you, tell us more about your roots.
Both of my parents were born and raised in Mexico and a large part of my extended family still resides there. I was born in Minnesota and have been here for the majority of my life. Even so, I’m very fortunate to frequent Mexico and catch up with my family!
What did you enjoy most from your education at Aveda?
I really loved how hands-on their approach was. There truly is no better way to learn than getting to touch, feel, and see skin up close. Also, the “Aveda touch” is very much real! It is easy to teach theory, but I think it takes something extra to teach touch -- and they were great at it. As someone who’s had many hands touch my face, I say touch can totally make or break a facial treatment experience.
How did you find Skin MPLS?
After other unsatisfying facial treatments, I took to Yelp -- and Skin MPLS happened to show up. You can’t beat all those 5-star reviews, I knew I had to get in and experience it for myself.
Spill the tea on one of your skincare pet peeves.
There are LOTS, haha! But I’d say my biggest skincare pet peeve is people not believing in the importance of SPF. Yes, you need it 365 days a year, rain or shine!!
Finally, how do you keep your skin so bright and glowy?
I try my best to be super consistent with my routine, never skimping out on any of the steps -- and there are a lot! But for sure the Hyaluronic Serum and Glowscreen really help! Of course, I never forget my SPF ;)
